Sneaky Sneaky

So today Benjamin wanted a popcicle, but he hadn't finished his yogurt so I told him in order to get a popcicle he had to eat his yogurt. Well, while I wasn't looking he took his yogurt and hid it and then came to me and asked for a popcicle again and he said "Yogurt all gone". I asked him where it was and he wouldn't tell me so I looked in the garbage can and the dog bowl (because he kept wanting to give it to Shadow) and I didn't see it. I asked him where it was again and he told me it was downstairs. He had taken his yogurt downstairs and set it on one of the chairs just so he could get a popcicle. I went down and got it and put it back on the table and he decided then that he could eat his yogurt to get a popcicle because I wasn't giving in to him.

Our Little Bunny

We just got this bunny outfit from Michael's aunt and uncle and it is so cute. I love the little socks that look like she's wearing shoes.

And then today Michael put her in the chair and she had her arm up on the arm rest and was just chillin' and it was so cute so we took a picture.

4th of July

The 4th of July is Kansas is awesome because we don't really have any restrictions on fireworks like Utah does. The fireworks that people light off are just as good as the ones that the city does. Michael and his brothers were able to talk Dad into buying some sweet fireworks. We started out with poppers and snakes for Benjamin and then we took a walk to High Park to see what was going on there, but by the time we got there we wanted to go back home because it was getting dark so we wanted to do fireworks. So, we ate some free watermelon and then walked back home. Let the fun begin! Benjamin didn't want to watch the fireworks so he was inside watching a movie while we lit off fireworks. We didn't get any pictures of the big fireworks because we couldn't find our camera. Sigh. It was a lot of fun though. The boys had a lot of fun lighting them. They were about as fun to watch as the fireworks were.

Tuesday the Davis' had to leave us and go back home :(   That was a sad day. We miss hanging out with them. It would be nice to be closer to family. Maybe someday. Thank you Davis' for a great time. This ends our vacationing adventures. We love you all and for those who were weren't able to see in Utah we miss you and hope that we will be able to see you next time!

Rachel's Blessing

Rachel was blessed July 3rd. Isn't her dress pretty? I am so proud of myself because I made her blessing dress. Wahoo!

Summer Vacation 2011: Part V

Our trip back to Kansas we spent in the Davis' motor home. They were planning on coming out for Rachel's blessing so we decided to tow our car behind the motor home and travel with them. It was good to have a couple extra days with them. We played games and watched movies and enjoyed each others company. It took longer than expected, but it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from our travels in the motor home either. I think our camera was in our car and we never got it out.

Summer Vacation 2011: Part IV

So we left the RV Ranch and traveled to Utah. Before we went to my parents house we stopped by Chante' and Jake's house and spent some time with them and let our kids play. Xander and Benjamin had a good time and it was really good to see our friends again. We left the Wilson's house and surprised my parents because they weren't expecting us until Monday evening. On Monday we went to lunch with Don, my second dad, and then in the evening we went to visit Grandma Bird and then Porter and Brittany. Tuesday we all went to Grandma Jackie's pool and played. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures with Porter and Brittany and our swimming excursion. On Wednesday we spent the day up at Frank's property and then we stopped by Aunt Martha's property to see it and the Airstream that she just bought. It was really pretty up there. Thursday we spent the morning packing and then we left the Millward's to go to Provo to get the car dolly to tow our car back to Kansas behind the Davis' motor home.

Summer Vacation 2011: Part III

We left the children's museum in Denver and headed to Grand Junction Colorado where we would be staying at the RV Ranch. It was just a little plot with enough grass to put our tent up. They had a playground and a swimming pool there as well. We arrived Friday night about 9 PM and set up our tent in the dark and went to bed. The next morning we got up and went to the Dinosaur Journey Museum. It was a lot of fun! When we first went in Benjamin was terrified and he clung to us and would not let go. We had to tell him that the dinosaurs were waving at him and that they were nice dinosaurs. The dinosaurs were so real looking and they even moved and roared. There were also bone displays and a place where the ground moved like an earthquake and a place where you could dig for dinosaur bones. After Benjamin got used to it he loved it and didn't want to leave. When we got back to camp we went swimming for the rest of the day. On Sunday we got up and packed camp and were on our way to Utah. Originally we were going to be at a different camping spot with a lake and we were going to spend Sunday at the lake relaxing and having fun, but since there really wasn't enough to keep Benjamin occupied for a whole day at the RV camp we left Sunday morning.

Summer Vacation 2011: Part II

Our next stop was Colorado Springs, Colorado. One of my friends now lives in Colorado Springs so we stopped by and visited them Thursday night and we went to the children's museum in Denver the next day. It was a lot of fun. They had a fire truck to play on, a painting area, a bubble area, a super market, a train area, and a couple different areas with things that they could climb all around on. The Allie and Benjamin got along really well and they had a lot of fun together.

Summer Vacation 2011: Part I

For our vacation this year we decided to travel to Utah since my dad and brothers had not met Rachel yet. We decided to take 5 day to travel to Utah so that we could have our own family vacation because we have never gone on vacation without one of our families going with us. So we left Wednesday, June 22 and we drove 2 1/2 hours to Wilson Lake National Park. We arrived at about 7 PM and set up camp and made some hot dogs for dinner. Our campsite was right by the lake and we had a great view. Both Benjamin and Rachel did really well that night. The next morning we hung out in the water before we headed off to our next destination. Michael was in charge of putting sunblock on the kids, but didn't put enough on Rachel because she got a sunburn across her nose and cheeks. He said that she was wiggling too much because she didn't like it so he didn't get enough on her cheeks. It ended up blistering and one of the blisters popped. It was so sad.
